Title: The Educational Challenge in Action: Teaching Under The New Educational Paradigm
Date: Friday February 23, 2018 • Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Session Description: This session is an extension of the Saviours’ Day 2017 Ministry of Education Workshop session on “Constructing a New Educational Paradigm Curriculum: The Supreme Wisdom Curriculum.” This year’s workshop will feature presentations from educators on teaching under the New Educational Paradigm. The teachers will demonstrate “teaching across the curriculum” under the theme: “Who is the Original Man? In the Beginning…” in the content areas of Mathematics and Science. The workshop will provide teachers, parents and other educators with an example how lesson plans are developed on the base of Divine Revelation in a universal expression of The Teachings of The Most Honorable Elijah and how to teach the lesson in the classroom. The workshop will also feature a segment on the need for us to produce our own textbooks and educational research to support the New Educational Paradigm Curriculum.
Session 2
Title: The Educational Challenge Moving Forward-What the Muslims Will Do: We Will Build Schools.
Date: Friday February 23, 2018 • Time: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Session Description: This session will feature three directors/directress from three different types of school models who will present on How to Start a School. Because public education is failing our children, this workshop will give an overview of the options that are available for our children. Brother Jason Karriem, Interim Director of Muhammad University of Islam, Chicago will present on the steps and requirements for starting an approved Muhammad University of Islam. Sister Wakiti Muhammad and Sister Marva Muhammad, Co-Owners of Elevated Places in Houston will present on starting an independent private Muhammad University of Islam affiliate school. And Brother Donnie Muhammad, Executive Director, Torchlight Academy Charter School, Raleigh, NC will present an overview on charter schools.
